We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will assist the classroom teacher in the delivery of planned education programmes and encourage a supportive and inclusive learning environment, including working with students in an individual, small group and whole class context.
We are ideally seeking a highly motivated and innovative person with high levels of initiative, who values the whole child and appreciates their individual learning needs. Suitable applicants should provide feedback on education and therapy programmes, assist with formulation of educational plans and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals.

o Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programmes, including special education and therapy programmes where these have been implemented.
o Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programmes to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
o Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programmes, including special education and, where required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programmes.
o Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
o Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well‐being of students.
