About the Department
The Department of Health is the largest agency in the Tasmanian State Government and is the largest employer in the state of Tasmania. We provide essential services including inpatient, outpatient, community health, child community health and residential aged care. We provide healthcare across acute care, sub-acute care, emergency care, non- admitted care, allied health, primary healthcare, palliative care, dementia services, specialised case management services, oral health, cancer screening, mental health, alcohol and drug services and corporate functions. Our hospitals include Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General, Northwest Regional Hospital and Mercey Community Hospital. Ambulance Tasmania is also part of the Department of Health.
About the team
Recruitment Services is implementing a new statewide operating model and structure designed to strengthen recruitment capability, improve consistency, and support a more modern end‑to‑end service across the Department of Health. We’re building a stronger, more specialised team to support consistent end‑to‑end recruitment across the Department, and we’re recruiting to multiple roles as part of this implementation.

About the Role
* Demonstrated understanding of contemporary workforce and recruitment trends, with proven experience leading change and driving continuous improvement to lift service performance, capability and consistency across a statewide function.
* Highly developed strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to set direction, assess risk and make sound decisions in a complex environment to deliver effective recruitment services and outcomes.
* Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to lead and motivate staff, set clear expectations and service standards, and drive continuous improvement and change to improve service performance and outcomes.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary
$139,470 to $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award (HAHSA) and the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA)
