Your New Role and Responsibilities
As a Java Engineer – Health Integration, you will design, build and support secure integration services that connect healthcare and enterprise systems. Working closely with delivery teams, clients and vendors, you will develop robust interfaces and APIs using healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 v2 and FHIR. You will play a key role in delivering reliable, secure and supportable integration solutions, with a strong focus on complex data transformations, validation and interoperability across multiple systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build and support healthcare integration services using HL7 v2, FHIR and enterprise integration patterns.
* Develop secure APIs and interfaces using Java, SOAP/REST services and JSON/XML data formats.
* Implement complex, multi-step data transformation and validation logic to ensure data quality and interoperability.
* Build, customise and deploy integration solutions using Apache Camel and Apache Kafka across cloud-native environments.
* Support deployments and operational activities while collaborating with delivery, platform and DevOps teams.
About You and What You'll Bring
* Demonstrated experience building secure and compliant healthcare integrations using HL7 v2, FHIR and CDA standards.
* Strong Java development skills with hands‐on experience applying enterprise integration patterns and API‐based architectures.
* Experience working with Apache Camel and Apache Kafka in enterprise‐scale environments.
* Commitment to quality, with experience in unit, integration and API testing using JUnit and Bruno, as well as performance testing with Apache JMeter.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, with a collaborative approach and strong documentation practices.
Eligibility
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be able to gain a baseline level security clearance.
