As the Indigenous Employment and Careers Manager, you’ll be at the heart of driving Australia Post’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) forward, contributing to systemic change and creating meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This Indigenous-identified role is dedicated to ensuring that Indigenous voices are embedded into every layer of the business, and supports the delivery of a national agenda of best-practice programs in employment, early careers, and leadership development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that’s championing innovation, accountability, and cultural transformation from the ground up.What you’ll deliver with usIn this role, you’ll shape and deliver initiatives that elevate Indigenous participation across Australia Post, from early careers to executive leadership. Reporting to the National Indigenous RAP Lead, you’ll work cross-functionally with senior leaders, business units, external stakeholders and communities to lead inclusive, measurable and culturally aligned programs. Your success will be evident in the strategic execution of RAP deliverables, increased Indigenous Voice and governance, and the cultivation of long-term partnerships that support self-determination and sustainable outcomes.You’ll also:Lead the end-to-end design, delivery and evaluation of Indigenous employment, mentorship, and leadership development programs.Manage the implementation of key RAP events and cultural engagement initiatives such as National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week.Build and maintain deep partnerships with Indigenous communities, external experts, and academic institutions to broaden outreach and impact.Provide strategic, culturally informed advice to senior leaders, ensuring policies and programs reflect best-practice in reconciliation and inclusion.Drive governance and reporting frameworks that elevate Indigenous Voice and improve transparency and accountability on RAP performance.About youYou’re a culturally aware and strategic thinker who leads with integrity, purpose and empathy. You're passionate about reconciliation and understand the importance of embedding Indigenous Voice in everything you do. You’re a proactive problem-solver, a confident communicator, and a trusted collaborator – able to balance long-term strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. Your ability to build strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and internal stakeholders alike is at the heart of your approach. At Australia Post, you’ll thrive in a team that values inclusion, innovation and community impact.You’ll also need:Proven experience delivering reconciliation or Indigenous-led initiatives, working closely with Traditional Owners, communities, and stakeholders.Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead sustainable change.High-level digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confident data and documentation management.Demonstrated experience managing contracts and vendor relationships, including performance measurement and evaluation.Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Project Management or a related discipline, alongside deep knowledge of contemporary reconciliation issues and the RAP landscape.How we’ll deliver for youBe part of a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can bring their authentic self to work every dayWe deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day.
