SWS Lawyers has an opportunity for a motivated lawyer to join our growing firm, across our commercial and/or litigation teams. Our sophisticated client base includes large private companies and family groups, private equity funds, listed companies, the NSW government and up and coming startups.
Our litigation team is well known for its work on significant commercial disputes and complex litigation in superior Courts, including contract disputes, equitable remedies, competition and consumer law issues, intellectual property disputes, directors' duties and shareholder claims. Our lawyers also regularly appear in the Local and District Courts in prosecution matters, which the successful candidate may assist with from time to time.
The SWS commercial and corporate team is well known for its depth of experience and expertise and exceptional client base. The successful candidate will enjoy working on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including sale and purchase transactions, capital raising, investment fund creation, management, governance and compliance advice, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, executive and director advice and corporate law advice.
Across the board, our leadership team prides itself on mentoring young lawyers, providing on the job practical training, managing workloads, and a friendly and relaxed team environment. We take at least 2 graduate lawyers each year, work closely with young lawyers and have an enviable track record training and nurturing lawyers in the critical early years of their development.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the law, want to do 'the hard stuff', have strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and will thrive on being part of a team that is driven to provide commercial and practical legal advice.
The successful candidate will have:
• years PQE;
• strong academic results;
• desire to develop and or learn advocacy skills;
• sound written and verbal communication skills;
• the ability to develop client focused relationships;
• the ability to use your initiative and work as part of a team; and
• the ability to manage your workload.
