The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Environmental Advisor to join our Utilities division in South Australia to support our growing operations team.
This role leads and coordinates environmental management and compliance across civil construction projects, providing expert advisory support to project teams.
You will ensure compliance with environmental approvals, legislation and client standards through effective planning, risk management, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder engagement, while driving sustainable construction practices and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement project Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)
Ensure compliance with environmental approvals, legislation and client requirements
Identify environmental risks and implement effective mitigation controls
Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring
Lead environmental incident investigations and corrective actions
Prepare reports for clients and regulatory authorities
Manage regulator and stakeholder engagement
Oversee erosion and sediment controls, waste, biodiversity and heritage protection
Ensure subcontractor compliance with environmental standards
Deliver environmental training and drive continuous improvement initiatives
The successful applicant will ideally have:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science (Highly regarded)
Previous experience in a similar environmental role
Experience working within a civil/construction environment
Proven experience within the water space (Desirable)
Strong communication skills
Skilled in stakeholder engagement
