We are seeking an experienced Satellite Communications Engineer to join our federal government client, supporting the delivery of a major Satellite Modernisation Program. This initiative aims to enhance the performance, resilience, and reliability of a global communications network by transitioning from legacy Geostationary Orbit satellite systems to modern Non-Geostationary Orbit technologies.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and ongoing support of satellite communications infrastructure across a globally distributed network of sites. You will work closely with architecture teams, cyber assurance specialists, and regional technical officers to ensure secure and high-performance connectivity supporting mission-critical operations.
Key Requirements
* Design, implement, and maintain satellite communication systems supporting both GEO and NGSO technologies
* Support high-level solution design and technology evaluation activities within the Satellite Modernisation Program
* Plan and implement resilient satellite-based WAN connectivity for geographically dispersed sitesAssist with deployment, configuration, and maintenance of satellite terminals across international locations
* Conduct RF system testing, performance analysis, and optimisation activities
* Produce and maintain technical documentation including system designs, operational procedures, and maintenance plans
* Collaborate with architecture, cyber security, and operations teams to ensure compliant and secure deployments
* Provide technical support and guidance during satellite system rollout, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
