The WHS Advisor will assist with work health and safety program implementation, monitoring and reporting across the organisation as per ATSICHS Brisbane's Work Health and Safety Management System. The role is responsible for managing and reporting on WorkCover claims in the organisation. They will also work collaboratively with key internal contacts to ensure a positive safety culture is fostered.
Duties
* WHS audit management: liaise with managers and safety delegates to set expectations and monitor compliance. Identify, assess and control any identified hazards and issues.
* Assist in creating and delivering any training required to meet WHS obligations.
* Provide organisational support to meet Emergency Management compliance, conduct audits to ensure compliance and ensure any non‐compliances are corrected.
* Ensure all external contractors are risk assessed, and all required licences, insurances and documentation is obtained and recorded.
* Create regular WHS communications to the organisation.
* Work with injured staff members and liaise between them, WorkCover Consultants, Managers and relevant specialists to ensure injured workers are provided with correct and timely care.
* Maintain a high level of consistency and accountability when actioning scheduled tasks in LogiQC.
* Establish and nurture strong relationships with team leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure training programmes meet workforce need.
* Support the Corporate Services approach to holistic service delivery.

Desired Skills And Experience
Required
* Minimum Diploma of Work Health and Safety.
* Current Fire Safety Advisor qualification.
* At least three years' previous experience in Work Health and Safety roles.
* At least one year's experience in a Return to Work/ Rehabilitation role.
* Demonstrated ability or experience in WHS auditing, managing identified hazards, responding to and managing WHS incidents, coordinating contractors, and creating a positive safety culture.
* Demonstrated ability or experience with creating positive outcomes through the return to work and rehabilitation process.
* National Police Certificate.
* Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
* Driver's Licence.
* Evidence of Work Rights.
* Travel between work sites on a regular basis.
Desirable
* Formal training in RTW/Rehabilitation methodologies.
* Current First Aid Certificate.
* Experience in operating a Quality Management Systems Database.
* Experience in creating and delivering WHS training.
