About the role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the delivery of best practice revenue, accounting and financial services through the effective and efficient management of human, financial and physical resources. The CFO ensures the finance function is supported by a strategic framework that helps Council achieve corporate objectives and organisational goals.
Driving improvement in finance practices including policy and strategy development, information and database systems, long term financial plans and business process improvements whilst modelling a positive commitment to achieving consistently high standards of customer service and responsiveness.

About You
* Demonstrated management experience within local government, or comparable leadership experience within the commercial or broader public sector. You will bring a strong understanding of governance frameworks, accountability requirements and organisational priorities, with the ability to translate strategic objectives into operational outcomes.
* Extensive experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including the preparation and implementation of strategic plans, policies, key organisational documents, programs and budgets. A proven ability to foster collaboration, drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable results is essential.
* Substantial experience in financial management, including budget development, monitoring and reporting, with the capacity to ensure responsible stewardship of public funds and alignment with organisational and legislative requirements.
* Experience working within a customer-focused and service delivery environment, with a demonstrated commitment to delivering responsive, high-quality services that meet community and stakeholder expectations.
