About Uniting Armidale

- Armidale location
- PPT, minimum of 32 hours per week. Morning/ Afternoon/ Night shift available.

Surrounded by tranquil leafy gardens, Uniting Autumn Lodge is a warm and welcoming aged care home that has been supporting older people in Armidale for more than 60 years, building strong ties with the local community.

We provide high-quality, round-the-clock care for up to 114 residents in private rooms with shared communal spaces.

Our compassionate team works closely with residents to understand their individual care needs, tailor support to ensure comfort, and arrange engaging activities that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a secure and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life.
- Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility.
- Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings.
- Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care (Preferred not mandatory).
- Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
- Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
- A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
