Cloud Security Architect Job Description:
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Security Architect to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the internal infrastructure required for our managed services business.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of IT management processes like patching, user management and advanced understanding of cloud environments. You will be part of a wider engineering team that manages multiple security tools across client environments and manages both cloud environments.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Systems Management: Help design and manage all secure cloud environments, ensuring security policies and baselines are kept up to date (cloud environments).
* BAU Response: Respond to platform and infrastructure alerts within SLA to ensure that we maintain our availability requirements.
* Identity & Access Management: Be part of the team that handles IAM for all cloud environments.
* Internal On-Boarding: Involved in internal on-boarding of new starters. Streamline the process to ensure staff hit the ground running. Build KBAs and provided knowledge to assist.
* Container Management: Help deploy and manage various kubernetes environments deployed in cloud environments.
* Integration Management: Be part of integrating various toolsets like Atlassian, SIEM products etc using services such as API Gateway and Lambda
* End User Compute: Design, deploy and manage end user compute services such as cloud workspaces.
* Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver effective solutions.
* Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation and reporting on all related activities.
* Compliance: Take ownership of confidentiality, security and privacy in all engagements internally and externally. Demonstrate risk-intelligent behaviours and encourage others to do the same.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive IT Experience: Proven experience with Enterprise IT systems, including cloud architecture, deployment, and administration.
* OS Knowledge: Extensive experience working in Unix environments.
* Container Experience: Understanding of Kubernetes and its use in cloud environments.
* Security Knowledge: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, SecDevOps processes and deploying as code.
* CICD Toolset Knowledge: Experience in creating and deploying CICD pipeline and using tools such as Terraform.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with a high level of organisation.
* Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team and lead initiatives.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications.
* Cloud Environments: Experience with deploying and managing systems in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
* Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Shell) for automation tasks.
