Our professional services ASX listed client is seeking a Payroll Officer.

Duties include
Payroll Processing including superannuation and payroll tax
* Process fortnightly payroll for 300+ employees, ensuring accuracy and STP compliance.
* Calculate and process entitlements, deductions, allowances, overtime, and leave balances across multiple states.
* Maintain payroll data in line with awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
* Calculate monthly commission payments
* Process superannuation contributions and prepare payroll tax obligations for relevant states
* Ensure compliance with all state and federal payroll legislations
Reconciliations & Reporting
* Complete month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations and general ledger alignment.
* Prepare payroll reports, including summaries, leave balances, variances, and KPIs.
* Provide ad hoc payroll reporting and analysis as required.
Employee Support & Communication
* Respond to payroll queries professionally and assist with payslips, entitlements, and system access.
* Liaise with auditors, regulatory bodies, and external service providers when required.
Compliance & Confidentiality
* Maintain current knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and agreements.
* Ensure all payroll processes meet regulatory requirements.
* Manage sensitive payroll data securely and confidentially in line with privacy obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Human Resources or a related discipline.
* Previous payroll experience managing payroll for a medium to large workforce (300+ employees preferred).
* Experience with payroll systems and STP-compliant reporting.
* Knowledge of multi-state payroll, leave entitlements, and applicable awards or agreements.
* Experience with payroll reconciliations, year-end processing, and payroll tax compliance.
* Experience in preparing payroll reporting for management and internal stakeholders.
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and payroll software.
