TALENT PROGRAM HEAD COACH ROLES OPEN FOR APPLICATION – COLTS & FUTURES
Peel Thunder Football Club are currently seeking to fill two key leadership positions in our Talent Program for Season 2026 – COLTS HEAD COACH and FUTURES HEAD COACH.

ABOUT PEEL THUNDER
Peel Thunder's purpose is to build a stronger community through football, with our aim to become the premier WAFL Club that inspires individuals to become the best versions of themselves, guided by a commitment to integrity and excellence.
2025 was a season of development both on and off the field for our Colts program, with the Club heavily motivated to build-on the improvements across the 2025 season and now into the 2026 season.
The Peel Thunder Football Club (PTFC) was granted a WAFL license in 1996, playing our first season of state league footy in PTFC has since grown to the highest profile football team outside of the Perth metropolitan region. PTFC was one of the first clubs in the State League to align the men's and women's football programs under one umbrella following the 2019 amalgamation with the Peel Thunderbirds to enter the WAFLW Competition in its Inaugural Year.
Since 1996, PTFC has had 42 Male players drafted into the AFL, with three WAFL Colts Premierships (2004, 2005 and We believe the Program is in a strong and aligned position for players to successfully transition into the Senior program, with now over 10 players debuting into League football since our successful 2022 season.
WAFL COLTS HEAD COACH ROLE
The Peel Thunder Football Club is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to lead the coaching and development of our WAFL Colts Team.
The position of Head Coach will be responsible for all facets of coaching, player development, leadership and strategic planning.
The main objective as Colts head coach is to develop players to become AFL draftable players and/or long-term Peel Thunder Senior footballers.
The Colts Head Coach will work closely with the Talent Manager, WA Football Talent personnel and our Zoned Clubs in establishing consistent and best practice coaching policies, individual and team development plans in addition to game plans, to give the Club the greatest opportunity for success and player development.
This role will see the Head Coach have the opportunity for personal development opportunities with our men's aligned partner in Fremantle Football Club (FFC), which includes working closely with our League Senior Coach and Assistant Coaches who are involved with FFC.
The Colts Head Coach will have outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, highly developed knowledge and expertise in high performance and proven success in the coaching field. The successful candidate will lead and embed a performance culture across the program.
Desirable Attributes and Skills for the WAFL Colts Head Coach

o Desire to coach at a higher level.
o Provide a space for players and staff to express themselves while challenging continuous improvement.
o Clear understanding of game style education, execution, and review.
o Lead and influence all support staff in a positive and supportive manner
o Experience in managing relationships with a range of stakeholder groups
o Extensive understanding of WA football talent pathway structure
o Develop close working relationships with Talent Manager, General Manager of Football, Senior coaches and other support staff
o Embrace the Peel Thunder FC philosophy of developing our own
o Understanding of the PTFC zone
o Establish, implement and coordinate appropriate training programs that maximise the development of all players
o Understand cultural backgrounds and ensure these are considered when making decisions that may affect player performance; given the sacrifices players make living away from home
o Align football development priorities closely to the Senior Program and proactively engage with other coaches and staff, including with the Fremantle Football Club (with our men's football program alignment)
Role Requirements
o AFL Silver (Level 2) coaching accreditation
o Talent coaching experience, head coach preferable.
o Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
o Experience in the use of HUDL for vision, GPS Data and Champion Data
o Working with Children Check
o Knowledge of the WAFL Talent Pathway
o From Mid November to September Available on Tuesday and Thursdays, from 6pm to 8pm and on weekends for training and/or matches
o Ability to work outside of normal working hours.

FUTURES HEAD COACH ROLE
The Peel Thunder Football Club is looking for a motivated and driven individual to lead the coaching and development of our Futures (under 16) male team.
The main objective as Futures Head Coach is to develop players to successfully transition into our Colts program and be provided the opportunity to be recognised in State programs.
The position of Futures Head Coach will be responsible for all facets of coaching and development of our young up and coming junior players.
The Futures Head Coach will work closely with the Talent Manager, WA Football and our Zoned Clubs in establishing consistent and best practice coaching policies, individual and team development plans in addition to game plans, to give the Club the greatest opportunity for success and player development.
The Futures Head Coach will have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, highly developed football knowledge and extensive coaching experience.

o Ability to work alongside the WAFL Colts Head Coach and a team of enthusiastic coaches and support staff.
o Desire to coach at a higher level.
o Provide a space for players and staff to express themselves while challenging continuous improvement.
o Clear understanding of game style education, execution, and review
o Align football development priorities closely to the Colts & Senior Programs and
o Proactively engage with other coaches and staff
o To prepare all players for possible progression to the club's Colts Program in subsequent years
o Embrace the Peel Thunder FC philosophy of developing our own
o Lead and influence all support staff in a positive manner
o Establish, implement and coordinate appropriate training programs that maximise the development of all players
o Understand cultural backgrounds and ensure these are considered when making decisions that may affect player performance; given the sacrifices players make living away from home
