About the role
The Gateways program provides community-based respite programs supporting people of all ages and abilities to achieve their goals. We currently have a vacancy for Disability Support Workers at our Mt Waverley program.
As a DSW in the Gateways program, you will organize activities such as cooking, painting, or games, engage clients in community programs, and assist with personal care to ensure programs are efficient, client-focused, and meet participants' needs.
* This is a part-time position - Monday to Friday
* Flexibility is required; positions are based in Mt Waverley
* A current full Victorian Driver's license is required
* Flexible start times are 8:00, 8:30, or 9:00 am; finish times are 3:00, 3:30, or 4:00 pm
About you
To succeed in this role, you should be an experienced DSW who enjoys variety, can organize engaging activities aligned with client goals, support community outings, and spend quality time one-on-one when needed. You will support the team to maintain a strong client focus.
* Certificate IV in Disability Support
* Experience working with clients with diverse disabilities
* Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to respond to and resolve client issues and concerns
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
* A valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
* A valid Working with Children's Check
* Current full Victorian Driver's License (mandatory)
* Ability or willingness to learn to drive a minibus
