Great opportunity to work as a clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist in a tertiary multidisciplinary diagnosis and assessment unit. The Child Development Unit provides gold standard assessment and quality of care to children aged 1-16 years with complex developmental presentations.

Responsibilities

Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required. Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale.

What You'll Be Doing

To work as part of a professional team who are providing a multl-disclplnary diagnostic and assessment service for children/adolescents with a range of complex developmental, learning disabilities and behavioural issues. The Child Development Unit is a tertiary referral centre for NSW for complex developmental and behavioural disorders. We provide multidisciplinary assessment, diagnosis and individual management planning. Team leader for specific research projects as required.

The Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist Will

* Work collaboratively within the Child Development Unit as a member of a multi-disclpllnary team, which includes medical, educational, nursing and allied health professionals.
* Provide assessments of complex developmental, learning and cognitive disorders
* Liaise and consult with other professionals within the hospital, Department of Education and with community agencies within NSW.
* Participate in the professional activities of the Psychology Department.
* Actively participate in research activities within the Child Development Unit

About You

We're looking for someone who:

* Completion of post graduate qualification in clinical psychology/neuropsychology or equivalent
* Registration with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and eligibility for membership of the APS College of Clinical Neuropsychologists
* Prior experience and expertise in diagnosis and assessment of children and adolescents with specific learning difficulties and formulation of treatment and management plans and provision of consultative services
