We are currently seeking an Experienced Sheet Metal Tradesperson to join our Press Shop, with proven experience operating CNC Turret Punch, CNC Press Brake and Guillotine equipment in a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Setting up and operation of CNC Press Brake – including manual data input and/or operation from offline programs where required.
* Operation of Guillotine machines for accurate cutting of aluminium and steel sheet prior to pressing and punching.
* Cutting, bending and forming sheet metal components in accordance with drawings, job travellers and work instructions.
* Responsible for the efficient flow of work through the press shop to meet company production and delivery objectives.
* Quality assurance – checking parts against drawings, identifying non-conformances and reporting / rectifying as required.
* Material usage management and recording using the company MRP system.
* Carrying out regular cleaning, checks and basic maintenance in line with machine maintenance schedules.
* Performing assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to PPE, safety policies and safe work procedures at all times.
* Setting up and operation of CNC Turret Punch – uploading programs, nesting, setting and operating to meet production requirements – desired but not essential.
* Supporting cross-training and flexibility across other production areas as required (e.g. saws, drilling, assembly, packing and logistics).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required
* Trade or related qualification in Sheet Metal Work, Fabrication, or similar (highly regarded).
* Demonstrated experience operating CNC Turret Punch, CNC Press Brake and Guillotine machines.
* Experience operating CNC Turret Punch machines – desired but not essential.
* Prior experience within a busy manufacturing / production environment.
* Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication and engineering drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and an eye for quality.
* Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Good level of physical fitness and manual handling capability.
* Own reliable transport.
* Forklift ticket desirable but not essential.
