Our client, operating in a prestigious industry, is seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to join its Asia Pacific team. This standalone, part-time (0.6 / 0.7 / 0.8) role is based at the company's Sydney headquarters and supports a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce.
This is a critical operational role responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle while providing strategic HR input to the leadership team. The role requires someone with exceptional interpersonal skills who thrives in a multicultural environment and is passionate about creating positive workplace experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide both day-to-day HR support and strategic guidance to employees and managers across the Asia Pacific region.
* Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
* Partner closely with a payroll officer to verify payroll accuracy (no processing responsibility)
* Oversee internal training programs and inductions; opportunity to contribute to executive coaching and leadership development if experienced.
* Maintain and optimise the HRIS (BambooHR) and ensure accurate and compliant HR data and records.
* Prepare employment contracts and manage all relevant documentation and HR compliance.
* Implement employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives that reflect the company's values and support a high-performance culture.
* Serve as the primary HR contact for regional staff across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong.
* Liaise with external HR advisors and regulatory bodies when necessary.
* Work collaboratively with the leadership team to contribute to workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management efforts.
Candidate Profile
Must have:
* Proven HR experience in a senior or standalone role, ideally within a fast-paced and service-oriented environment.
* Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation.
* Skilled in balancing strategic priorities with hands-on operational responsibilities.
* Demonstrated experience managing recruitment, employee relations, performance reviews, and compliance processes.
* Proficient in using HRIS platforms (ideally BambooHR) and producing accurate HR reports.
* Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a pragmatic and solution-focused mindset.
* A proactive approach with an ability to manage HR Projects
Nice to have:
* Exposure to or experience in a regulated industries.
* Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams across the Asia-Pacific region.
* Background in leadership development or executive coaching.
* Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organisational Development, or a related field.
* Familiarity with Australian workers compensation legislation.
