About the Role
We are seeking a senior Business Development Manager to join our high‐performing Victorian sales team as we continue our strong growth trajectory across our Inspection & Testing portfolio.
This role is suited to an experienced hunter who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities, and converting complex requirements into long‐term, recurring service contracts.
The primary emphasis of the role is new business acquisition, including the ability to originate opportunities outside of formal tender processes and engage effectively with senior and executive‐level decision‐makers.
What you'll do
* Identify, qualify, and secure new Inspection & Testing and maintenance service contracts across Victoria.
* Originate and progress opportunities within large, complex and strategically significant customer environments.
* Build and maintain a strong, well‐qualified pipeline of high‐value opportunities aligned to growth targets.
* Engage credibly with senior and executive stakeholders, tailoring commercial solutions to customer requirements.
* Lead major bid and tender responses (RFQ / RFT / RFP), coordinating inputs across Sales, Service, Operations, Estimating and EHS.
* Develop compelling proposals and participate in client presentations for complex service opportunities.
* Maintain disciplined use of CRM systems for pipeline management, forecasting and reporting.
* Sell within delegated pricing authority, ensuring margin protection and commercial compliance.
* Ensure effective transition and handover of secured contracts to service delivery teams to support long‐term success.
What we're looking for
* 10+ years' experience in business development or senior sales within fire services, building services, or a related industry.
* Demonstrated success as a hunter, with a proven track record of winning large, recurring service contracts.
* Substantial experience leading major bid and tender activity (RFQ / RFT / RFP).
* Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, and confidence operating at senior levels.
* Disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
* Current driver's licence and ability to travel across Victoria.
Formal tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline are considered, but are not essential where supported by extensive, relevant industry experience and a demonstrated record of success.
