Primary objective
Provide executive leadership, advice and planning across the spectrum of Community Corrections, with a focus on strategic, whole of
agency policy and direction and ensuring the provision of best practice services, holistic case management and enhancing community
safety across the NT.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead the development and implementation of strategies to support sustainability and operational efficiency of community
corrections programs.
1. Demonstrate knowledge in relation to grant, contract and project management and strategies to provide timely advice and assistance
on complex matters that ensure the delivery of quality community corrections practices.
3. Develop collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure informed, integrated and holistic
community corrections service delivery.
4. Provide high level advice in relation to the NTG Electronic Monitoring contract and operations and oversee the professional
development strategy and program for community corrections.
5. Assist in identifying trends and issues in client service delivery and evaluating client outcomes, including performance reporting, to
ensure coordinated service delivery.
6. Build and sustain strategic partnerships across government to enable the collaborative delivery of community corrections program
outcomes, including with the judiciary and relevant statutory bodies.
7. Contribute to a positive work culture that delivers quality customer service, ensures results are delivered within time, quality and
budget requirements, and models behaviour that creates a positive, inclusive, culturally safe team culture that engages, supports and
motivates people.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience of leading a high performing service delivery function in a community corrections or other relevant
environment.
2. High level communication, including the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of staff, clients and stakeholders from varied
cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
3. Highly developed analytical skills and demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and implement contemporary human service delivery
models.
4. Demonstrated experience managing grants, contracts and projects in a dynamic operating environment.
5. Able to exercise sound judgement, understand the broader operating environment, and deal appropriately with matters of a highly
sensitive, risky, and confidential nature.
6. Understanding of, or ability to acquire, Electronic Monitoring in a justice environment and in the unique NT context.
7. High level knowledge of current and emerging issues and their determinants with particular reference to community corrections in
the Northern Territory.
Desirable
1. A degree in Business, Public Administration, Political Science, or other relevant disciplines.
