ABOUT THE ROLE
You will plan and conduct field measurement surveys of broadcast and other wireless network technologies Australia wide. The tasks range from contractual operational obligations, project-initiated field work, coverage evaluation, interference and reception investigation, and any other field measurements of wireless radio communications services.
The role requires travel around Australia typically in 2-week blocks.
We are open to location of this role – Mitchell ACT, Bald Hills QLD, Sydney/Newcastle NSW, Melbourne VIC, Perth WA, Pimpala SA
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support the Field Resource Manager to plan and schedule the field survey program
- Conduct contractual Service Performance Monitoring (SPM) for managed broadcast services
- Assist in resolving network antenna faults by supporting SIU and the Antenna team with field work
- Conduct project related field work and deliver reports for Project Managers and Account Managers
- Liaise with Transmission Services Engineers and Antenna Specialists as required to confirm antenna and RF designs as input to field work
- Assist the Field Resource Manager in field survey scope and costing as input to bid and project planning
- Maintain SPM location currency in MAT Software
- Utilise SPM measurement data to identify problematic measurements
- Deliver coverage, antenna proof-of-performance and other reports, where required, by liaising with Planning Engineers, ensuring peer review
- Assist to maintain a category of field survey assets (warehouse, vehicles, test equipment) effectively and to participate in process and projects around improvements within that category
LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You will have sound experience with antenna proof of performance, coverage and interference identification and measurement techniques, with knowledge of National and International field measurement standards and practices.
A Diploma/tertiary qualifications in Broadcasting, Radio, Telecommunications or equivalent work
experience is preferred. A solid RF knowledge base is essential along with a full driver’s license.
