Overview
Senior User Experience Researcher (Bangkok – Based, Relocation provided)
Location: Bangkok, Thailand. This role may include relocation assistance to Bangkok.
Responsibilities
- Senior User experience Researchers own end-to-end planning, execution, analysis and reporting of research projects, and consistently achieve research outputs needed by Product teams to inform strategic decisions.
- Research findings inform Agoda's product design, user experience, product direction, and market strategy.
- General Role Expectations: Demonstrates critical thinking beyond explicit business requests; functions independently in all operational research tasks; leads core end-to-end research activities, including driving objectives, hypotheses, methodology, execution, analysis, and communication.
- Research Skills: Evaluate opportunities for importance, urgency, and impact; propose solid research solutions; execute projects with strong results; triangulate quantitative and qualitative data; apply and adapt established methods; learn key software tools; understand data compliance and ethics in all activities.
- Collaboration: Drive cross-discipline collaboration; work with other researchers and disciplines with clear ownership; tailor communication to different audiences and welcome feedback.
- Research Community Contributions: Share methodologies, coach or mentor other researchers, and participate in screening candidates as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Master degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Information Science, Psychology, Social Science, or related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in consumer-facing business domains
- Strong ability to plan, scope, conduct, analyze and communicate research
- Experience with Qualitative and user-centered design methods (interviews, diary studies, direct observation, think-aloud usability testing, etc.)
- Experience with Quantitative research (metrics, survey design, sampling, cross-tabs, statistical concepts)
- Experience in evaluating, negotiating, and working with external research vendors
- Ability to describe user problems and business opportunities to stakeholders using qualitative and quantitative data
- Strong critical thinking beyond business requests; storytelling and explicit communication to business, design, and engineering teams (English)
- Enjoys collaborative work in a energetic, data-driven environment
- Aware of data compliance and ethics in research activities
