Overview
Medical Receptionist role at Serco, in Campbell, ACT, Australia. This position is part of the Australian Defence Force Health Services contract, providing integrated healthcare support with Serco in partnership with Bupa at 50+ on-base locations nationwide to ensure on-site medical care for ADF personnel.
About The Role
You will be responsible for providing clerical services including maintenance of electronic and hard copy health records, maintaining databases and information management systems, filing, photocopying and ordering stationery. You will also communicate with internal and external customers to obtain patient information as required. The work you undertake will be in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures, Medical-in-Confidence and Staff-in-Confidence standards.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
Minimum of 1 year full-time experience in an Administrative role (or part-time equivalent).
Demonstrated ability to work in a customer service focused environment (desirable).
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients.
About ACT Health Centre
ACT houses Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The ACT Health Centre opened mid-2021 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

With experience working in a clinical support role, you enjoy knowing your work is contributing to positive health outcomes for patients. Your excellent interpersonal skills mean you are able to easily communicate with internal staff and external customers and your team knows you are willing to go the extra mile to help out wherever needed. You understand the importance of accurate and up-to-date record keeping in a clinical environment and take pride in being responsible for this. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do. You are passionate about providing clinical support services and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support delivery of the highest standard of care to patients.
