We are looking for Assistant Program Officer to work with our client in the Government space
Location: Orange, NSW
Hours/Days: 35 hours per week
Contract: 10th Nov 2025 – 9th Feb 2026
Pay Rate: $54 per hour
Role Overview
This role sits within a NSW State Government agency and is part of a team delivering financial assistance programs. The Assistant Program Officer performs a range of clerical and administrative tasks necessary to support the smooth operation of the unit, including application assessment, post-approval processing, and general office support.
The role requires high-quality customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
* Review complex applications and claim requests, providing recommendations to inform decision-making within required timeframes and against eligibility criteria, policies, and responsible lending standards.
* Identify and case-manage suspected fraudulent applications or claims, escalating to the Manager as required.
* Draft and prepare correspondence related to funding deeds, titles, securities assessments, applications, and other variations .
* For loans, apply responsible lending standards, assess and recommend terms and conditions, and liaise with financial institutions to obtain consent for required documents.
* Maintain and accurately enter data into internal databases to support informed decision-making.
* Provide accurate and timely information and advice to applicants and clients regarding the status, conditions, or variations of applications.
* Resolve enquiries and manage customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
* Perform general clerical and office support duties to ensure the smooth operation of the team and unit.
Key Challenges
* Managing multiple tasks effectively within tight timeframes while maintaining quality and accuracy.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and responsible lending practices across multiple programs.
* Managing sensitive enquiries, complaints, and reactions from distressed or irate clients .
* Clarifying and validating complex information provided by clients, particularly securities documentation for loans .

Casual Loading
