The People and Culture Branch are responsible for delivering the full suite of human resources services and advice for the Office. Working as part of a small collaborative team, these roles provide operational support across payroll, onboarding and offboarding, recruitment, learning and development, organisational culture initiatives, and secretariat support for consultative committees.
Both roles require the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships, demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration, customer service, and confidentiality. The positions play an important role in supporting the Office’s commitment to embedding positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
The GHO4 HR Administrator provides operational support to the People and Culture Branch. Working under general direction, the role manages the HR inbox, responding to routine HR enquiries or allocating matters for appropriate action. They will submit payroll actions to the outsourced payroll provider and monitor responses, support onboarding and offboarding processes, assist with recruitment activities, provide secretariat support, and offer general guidance to staff on HR policies, procedures and employment-related matters. The role contributes to accurate record keeping, effective service delivery and the smooth day to day operation of HR functions.
The GHO5 HR Officer works under limited direction to deliver quality payroll processing and advice. The role coordinates and responds to more complex employee enquiries, provides payroll advice to managers and staff, and contributes to the development, implementation and review of HR materials, procedures and initiatives. The GHO5 HR Officer also plays a proactive role in identifying and implementing improvements to HR practices and systems, and provides reporting and system support for Aurion, eRecruit, and the performance management system.

The key duties of the position include:
Under general direction, the GHO4 HR Administrator will:

* Submit and monitor payroll actions through the outsourced payroll provider.
* Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and on time.
* Assist with recruitment activities, including candidate communications, scheduling and documentation.
* Provide secretariat support to People and Culture related committees.
* Maintain accurate HR records and systems.
* Support initiatives that contribute to a positive workplace culture.
Under limited direction, the GHO5 HR Officer will:
* Deliver operational HR services, including payroll processing and advice.
* Manage complex and escalated HR and payroll enquiries.
* Act as a key liaison with the outsourced payroll provider.
* Coordinate and support end to end recruitment activities.
* Identify and implement improvements to HR practices, processes and systems, and guidance materials.
* Provide reporting and system support for Aurion, eRecruit and the performance management system.
* Contribute to initiatives that enhance organisational culture and service delivery.

All positions at the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General are prescribed and the successful applicant will need to pass and maintain a security clearance.
