Shape our finance function across two growing businesses
Hamptons Group are looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our team in a fulltime permanent position to take ownership of the finance function across two separate business entities.
About the Role:
Reporting into our company directors you will oversee the work of our remotely based bookkeeper, and work closely with our external financial advisor.
This is a newly created role offering autonomy, influence, and the chance to build strong financial processes that support our next stage of growth ensuring accurate reporting, strong cash flow control, and clear visibility of job profitability and margins.
Responsibility of this position will cover;
Financial Management & Reporting
* Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
* Deliver variance analysis and performance insights
* Maintain accurate job costing and margin reporting
* Manage month-end close and support year-end processes
Job Costing, WIP & Revenue Recognition
* Maintain accurate costing for shutters and glazing projects
* Track WIP and deferred income
* Ensure revenue recognition aligns with Australian accounting standards
* Analyse profitability by product, installation team, and sales channel
Cash Flow & Working Capital
* Lead cash flow forecasting across both entities
* Oversee customer deposits and staged payments
* Improve debtor days and support pricing decisions
Compliance & Controls
* Ensure payroll, superannuation, and ATO compliance
* Strengthen internal controls, approval workflows, and financial processes
* Support system improvements and automation initiatives
Business Partnering
* Work closely with senior leadership and financial advisors provide commercial insights to support strategic and operational decisions
* Contribute to budgeting and annual planning
About You:
You're commercially minded, detail‑focused, proactive and confident working with non‑finance stakeholders. You enjoy a hands‑on role, solve problems quickly and feel comfortable supporting two dynamic business entities.
For success in this role, you will also require;
* Degree in Accounting or Finance
* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
* 5+ years' experience in management accounting coupled with Xero or similar software experience
* Preferably exposure in trade, construction or manufacturing environments
* Exposure to scaling businesses
* Experience supporting two or more separate business entities (desirable)
