Position Brief: Enforcement Technology Lead
About The Team
The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City's standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City's residents and visitors.
The City Parking business unit is responsible for patrolling and enforcing parking laws in paid parking and timed parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations.
About The Role
We're seeking an Enforcement Technology Lead who takes ownership, solves complex problems, and is driven to continuously improve how things work. This is a pivotal role within City enforcement, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, governance and evolution of enforcement technology that supports frontline teams and enhances safety and liveability across the Gold Coast.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is empowered to make decisions, and is motivated by transforming how technology supports real-world outcomes. You will be the key connector between operational teams, internal stakeholders and external vendors—turning complex challenges into practical, reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the City's enforcement and parking technology systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure and fit for purpose.
* Act as the primary point of contact for technology vendors
* Manage the enforcement technology budget, including forecasting, tracking and financial accountability.
* Work closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to ensure technology genuinely supports safe, efficient and compliant enforcement activities.
* Build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal IT teams, transport agencies, elected representatives and industry partners.
* Research and evaluate emerging enforcement technologies, providing insights and recommendations that drive innovation and continuous improvement.
* Provide guidance, mentoring and support to team members, fostering capability, confidence and collaboration.
We're Looking For People Who
* Have experience in application management and application support, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
* Enjoys working autonomously, taking ownership of outcomes and confidently making informed decisions.
* Are a natural problem-solver who can balance operational needs with governance, compliance and risk considerations.
* Brings strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships.
* Has experience managing vendors, contracts and service delivery, with a focus on value, performance and accountability.
* Thinks strategically while remaining hands-on, able to translate big-picture objectives into practical solutions.
* Are comfortable managing budgets, forecasting and tracking expenditure.
* Demonstrates a customer-centered mindset, always considering the experience of both internal users and the community.
* Diploma in Computer Science or relevant experience.
If you're motivated by improving how technology supports people on the ground, values the autonomy to lead, and would like to play a key role in shaping the future of enforcement technology, this role offers the impact and challenge you're looking for.
