Hybrid role - Geelong site 2 days, Melbourne office 2 days, WFH 1 day
You've no doubt been hearing and reading about the growth in data centre development. It's been getting a lot of attention, especially when other sectors in property have been on life support.
Our PM consultancy client has made a name for themselves with some of the biggest data centre companies in the world. They're winning more and more work, creating opportunities for you to grow.
They are a privately owned firm based in Melbourne working in data centres, commercial, living, tertiary education and healthcare projects, meaning you get diversity of work.
They're also buffered from cyclical change in asset classes so have been continuing to grow when others are struggling to win work.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a PM to manage a data centre project
in Geelong
. You will be engaged on other clients and projects where capacity allows and this is by no means a pure DC role over the mid to long term.
Working in DCs can be highly technical. You do not need to have DC experience, but an appetite for technical work and adoption of technical jargon and principles is important. The operational and technical nature of healthcare and life sciences are great adjacent sectors for example.
Given you will be onsite 2 days a week, you will have extensive interaction with your client's project and operational team. Your well developed stakeholder management skills will hold you in good stead.
Working in a setting like this will set you up for a future career in either consulting or on the clientside. Optionality on your future career is what you can expect to gain in this role.
What is the culture like?
Straight-shooting, ambitious, friendly, honest, no fuss, high performing (but not exhausting).
You can expect to work with people who are really dedicated to doing what they say they will and importantly, who are committed to your development. There is absolutely scope for you to become a senior leader in this business over time. It's not a consultancy that is top-heavy where directorships come up once in a blue moon. They're on the up and they want you to be a part of the success for the long term.
Should you apply?
If this ad excites you and you have project engineering or management experience managing new builds (not pure fitout) either in a commercial builder, PM firm or on the clientside, then we would love to hear from you.
A degree qualification, Australian project experience and driving licence are pre-requisities.
