The Opportunity
We are seeking a Structural Drafter with strong experience in SpaceGass, Advance Steel, and AutoCAD to join our Engineering team. This role will be responsible for producing high‑quality technical drawings and models to support the design and delivery of modular, structural, and energy projects.
Working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams, you will prepare structural drawings, details, and documentation that ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
Responsibilities
* Prepare 2D and 3D structural drawings, models, and details using Advance Steel, AutoCAD, and SpaceGass outputs .
* Produce general arrangement drawings, shop/fabrication drawings, and connection details.
* Translate engineering sketches, calculations, and markups into clear, compliant documentation.
* Ensure drawings comply with Australian Standards, Building Codes, and company drafting standards.
* Maintain drawing registers, revision control, and assist with as-built documentation.
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to deliver coordinated designs.
* Apply safe design principles and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting processes.
Key Requirements
* Applicable Structural Engineering Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Structural Drafter in engineering, fabrication, or modular construction projects.
* Proficiency in SpaceGass, Advance Steel, and AutoCAD .
* Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and structural drafting principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
* Experience with BIM workflows.
* Exposure to modular construction or energy infrastructure projects.
