Francis Venues are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team at A Cut Above – Bar & Grill, located in Berwick. As a steakhouse, we pride ourselves on premium quality dishes and exceptional customer experiences — and we’re looking for a chef who can bring both skill and dedication to the role. 
What we’re looking for 
- Strong grill experience, with confidence in preparing steaks to perfection. 
- Proven background in fast-paced commercial kitchens. 
- Solid knowledge of OS&H; and food safety standards. 
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality. 
- A positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn. 
- Team player with excellent communication skills. 
- High standards of presentation, integrity, and consistency in all work. 
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic. 
- Availability to work on a 7-day rotating roster (40 hours per week), including weekends and public holidays. 
Key responsibilities 
- Lead and support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals. 
- Assist in planning menus and developing daily specials. 
- Create prep lists and ensure productive workflow for the kitchen crew. 
- Monitor food costing, inventory, and wastage control. 
- Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and presentation. 
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
