What will this role achieve?
The Procurement team consists of 120 professionals working worldwide to create competitive advantage for pladis through mid-term sourcing strategies and strong supplier relationships. Our 2025 Procurement vision aims to deliver more value for the business across five key areas: Supply Continuity, Cost Reduction, Cash Flow Optimization, Sustainability, and Supplier Innovation.
We operate as a matrix organization, with Global Categories reflecting pladis's global scale and Regional Procurement maintaining close connections with our six regions: UK & Ireland, Western Europe & Emerging Markets, Middle East & North Africa & India, Turkey & Eastern Europe & Central Asia, APAC, and North America.
Within UKI Regional Procurement, the Head of Centre of Excellence reports directly to the UKI Procurement Lead, who reports to the UK Managing Director. You will lead the Packaging Category, managing a spend of £70 million, in alignment with the Global Packaging Procurement team.
Key deliverables include:
* Policy and Compliance: Ensure procurement activities adhere to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
* Stakeholder Management: Collaborate internally to understand procurement needs and manage change projects effectively.
* Performance Management: Monitor, report, and improve procurement performance.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supplier financial evaluations.
* End-to-End S2P Process: Lead sourcing strategies, implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
* Sourcing Guidelines: Develop and maintain sourcing policies aligned with organizational standards.
* Operational Procurement: Oversee purchasing, supplier relationships, contracts, and invoicing.
* Productivity Governance: Manage efficiency goals and performance strategies.
* Procurement Tools and Systems: Oversee regional procurement systems and training.
* Sustainability: Act as a point of contact for sustainable procurement practices.
* Transformation Projects: Lead regional procurement transformation initiatives.
Bring your experience:
* Proven success in procurement at a regional or global level within a multinational organization.
* Ability to navigate ambiguity in a multicultural environment.
* Strong collaborative and leadership skills.
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Operational and strategic mindset.
* Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Availability to work in Chiswick 3 days a week and travel as needed.
* Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
* Proficiency in another language.
* Experience in a matrix procurement organization.
Interview process:
* First stage: 45-minute competency-based interview.
* Second stage: 60-minute technical interview, case study, or presentation.
* Final stage: Leadership Success Model Assessment and role competencies.
