The Organisation Our client is a not-for-profit provider of community mental healthcare services for over 50 years and today is one of Queensland's largest, also providing tele-services nationally.
With an excellent reputation in the sector, they have established strong partnerships with state and federal government, corporate and academic institutions that has enabled them to support and provide a sustainable future for people facing health challenges and social disadvantage with an evidence-based approach.
With the mental health sector rapidly evolving they have re-visited their entire strategy and are reframing their future direction with a broader focus on global wellbeing – a vision supported by advanced research.

They are now looking for a new CEO to lead that new strategic direction.
The Role Reporting to the Board, the CEO role will be responsible for a large scale, dispersed team of over 400 FTE spread across multiple locations in regional, rural and metropolitan Queensland that provide a broad range of services including crisis support, housing support, telehealth services, transitional support services, mental health coaching and NDIS to name just a few.
The organisation also has a number of major partnerships including a Lived Experience Project, therapy studies with leading Academics and a significant Research Partnership with the University of Melbourne centred around evidence based best practice program and service development.
At an organisation level there has been a period of process improvement across areas like finance, governance policy reset, Board refresh and the launch of a new website.
The CEO remit is around growth, culture and building a sustainable future noting the organisation is in a solid financial position to enhance service delivery and support future growth.
The Person You will be a purpose driven and people focused leader with a proven ability to lead teams through transformation and change whilst building culture and cohesion in a geographically dispersed workforce.
Experience in the mental health services or adjacent community or social care sectors is critical to be considered, especially with experience working with Federal and State Governments for funding support and grants as well as an understanding of the NDIS.
Scale is important, as is the experience with digital services or AI as the organisation is looking to maximise its impact through online platforms and technology.
Corporate polish and experience working with or reporting to a Board is also essential.
You will be able to demonstrate signficant growth in the organisations you've led in the sector, solid approach to Partnerships and sustainable funding models and experience working with world class research institutes would be highly regarded.
All of the above is equally important to demonstrating a high level of self-awareness, empathy and EQ in how you lead, delegate and empower teams that you truly care about and put first.
This role is based in Brisbane, relocation support will be offered to the successful candidate.
