Employment type : Full-time, permanent Location : Glendenning (2761) Shift : AM or PM shifts available What’s on Offer Full-time, ongoing position with long-term stability Competitive hourly rates Morning and afternoon shifts available Work in a well-equipped manufacturing facility Training and development on specialised equipment Safe, supportive, and team-focused work environment Opportunity to grow within a well-established business Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain steel processing machinery (CNC Drilling Unit and Automated Band Saw, Shot Blaster, Conveyor/Transfer Systems) Set up and adjust machines to meet production requirements Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues and carry out pre-emptive maintenance Diagnose faults and carry out basic repairs to minimise downtime Conduct basic maintenance and ensure equipment is operating efficiently Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications Follow all workplace health and safety procedures Maintain a clean and organised work area Work collaboratively with the team to meet production targets About the Role We are seeking a Technical Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical mindset who enjoys working in a hands-on manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in operating and maintaining steel processing machinery to ensure efficient and high-quality production outcomes. About You Previous experience in mechanical repairs within manufacturing or steel industry Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding General ability to fabricate and weld parts and weld when required e.g. repairing damaged guarding or fabricating a bracket Previous exposure to pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding, proximity sensor adjustments and other basic sensor maintenance Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve machine issues Ability to read and interpret production drawings/specifications (desirable) Commitment to safety and attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks Overhead crane experience ( desirable ) Forklift licence ( desirable ) About Steel Builders Since 2010, Steel Builders has built a strong reputation in the residential housing industry as a 100% Australian-owned manufacturer, producing high-quality steel products in line with Australian standards.
