Job details About the Client Our client is an Australian-based company who is a global leader in the design, manufacture and assembly of aerospace and defence systems. Located in Brisbane they specialises in the production of metallic aerospace components and mechanical systems. What you will be doing Working either afternoon or night shift your role will include operating and managing CNC machines to manufacture, modify and machine precision components according to detailed drawings and instructions. You'll be responsible for setting up and running 4 and 5-axis CNC machines with minimal supervision, ensuring all work meets strict quality standards before inspection. Duties include: Ensure all work submitted for quality inspection conforms to layout sheet and/or drawings supplied Use electronic workstations to log on and off tasks to cost centres as they are performed Use hand tools and equipment associated with the performance of work duties Perform JPTMS (jigs, programs, Tools, Materials, setup sheets Competent in setting, running, and checking manufactured components Able to control, setup and run 3, 4, and 5 axis machines with minimal supervision Assist with on the job training to lower-level CNC Machinists as required Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communication actions and irregularities What you will need To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (or an equivalent qualification. You will also need: Proven experience operating and setting up 4 and 5-axis CNC machines independently Strong understanding of engineering drawings, work instructions, and layout sheets The ability to perform quality checks and ensure finished components meet required specifications Familiarity with hand tools and other mechanical equipment relevant to machining work Competence in using electronic workstations for logging tasks and tracking job progress A commitment to following safety procedures and contributing to a safe work environment Previous experience in a defence or aerospace manufacturing environment are highly regarded Whats in it for you Long term work with the opportunity for permanent employment Supportive work culture with regular social events Afternoon and night shift allowance with overtime Apply now!
