Graduate Zoologist Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Zoologist to join our dynamic Terrestrial Ecology Group in Perth. As a graduate zoologist, you will be involved in various surveys, contribute to projects, and write technical reports.
This is a permanent full-time position based in our Perth office where the team comprises leading experts in terrestrial ecology. You will have the opportunity to work on an extensive pipeline of ongoing and upcoming exciting projects across Western Australia.
Key responsibilities include:
* Participating in terrestrial fauna field surveys with experienced ecologists to diverse environments across Western Australia.
* Analyzing ecological data and preparing clear concise technical reports.
* Preparing proposals for straightforward projects under guidance.
* Providing technical support and advice to the broader environment team or receiving appropriate mentoring to develop your technical skills.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm in zoology outside of university.
* Terrestrial fauna survey experience.
* The ability to undertake surveys generally up to two weeks at a time in remote locations.
* A good level of physical fitness and the ability to pass a fitness assessment for field surveys.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including highly developed technical reporting skills.
