About the team – The Cyber Security team sits is within the Technology Group of the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.
They deliver a comprehensive cybersecurity program for the ASC. It delivers a range of governance, risk, assurance and advisory services relating to cybersecurity to ASC and the wider sport community through its internal capabilities, and coordinates cybersecurity support and preventative, detection and response services through a range of internal and external arrangements.
About the role – The Assistant Director, Cyber Security provides leadership, support and direction to develop and deliver a comprehensive cybersecurity program for the ASC in accordance with its intended purpose; to protect ASC information and its infrastructure from internal and external threats; and ensure that the ASC complies with statutory and regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.
They will support the Director Cyber Security / CISO, Chief Security Officer and members of the Executive in identifying, analysing and validating cybersecurity threat and risk controls and treatments for the ASC as part of a dynamic and passionate Cyber Security team.
About you – We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, with extensive knowledge of relevant frameworks, best practices and governance and compliance across a Federal Government landscape.
The successful candidate will have:
* Comprehensive knowledge of the standards which govern the security of government ICT systems as detailed in the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
* Ability to make sound judgements that effectively balance security, risk and the ongoing delivery of services in a Corporate Commonwealth Entity (CCE).
* Extensive knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in cybersecurity frameworks, best practices, governance and compliance across a Federal Government landscape.
* Demonstrated record of providing leadership and management to achieve high personal and team performance and meet organisational and business objectives.
* Demonstrated experience in a cybersecurity environment within Australian Government entities.
