Position Overview:
We are seeking a Communications Officer who will create and deliver communication material and activities that inform stakeholders about FRDC's work and how its investment in RD&E supports current practices and future opportunities in the fishing and aquaculture sectors and the community. Reporting to the Corporate Affairs Manager, responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the communications team in providing a range of communication services to FRDC staff and stakeholders, including developing project stories, publications, media articles, digital/social media content, and collateral.
2. Fostering relationships and engaging with stakeholders.
3. Delivering communication and engagement activities, such as writing articles, publications, and digital media content based on scientific evidence and research.
4. Managing website and CRM platforms.
5. Coordinating events and workshops.
6. Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Stakeholder Engagement team.
Key skills and experience required include:
1. Strong content production skills and experience.
2. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
3. Persuasive writing skills tailored to specific audiences.
4. High-level interpersonal skills for engaging internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Strong technical proficiency.
