OverviewReporting to the Manager Production at our Birkenhead manufacturing plant, the Shift Supervisor will lead one of our four production shift teams with the scope and autonomy to make improvements, innovate, drive productivity, and lead a team.The purpose of the role is to ensure that the production rates, commercial plans, and targets are achieved, through the safe and efficient utilisation of people and equipment.A generous salary and 4 on/4 off roster make this metropolitan Adelaide based role one that will attract the interest of manufacturing, production or trades individuals with supervisory experience.ResponsibilitiesOversee the safe, secure and effective daily operations of the Birkenhead plant on shiftLead and develop a team of shift operatorsEnsure operational standards and procedures are met and continually improvedReduce operational costs while ensuring products are safely manufactured to the required standardsMonitor and maintain quality systemsEnsure that all safety, health and environment requirements are complied withSupport and develop collaborative relationships with other site teamsControl the quality of the production process at all stages of the cement manufacturing processWhat you will need to succeedPrevious experience in 24/7 heavy manufacturing environment preferableDemonstrated ability to supervise and work effectively with individuals and a teamGreat interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate and network effectivelyAbility to work in a dynamic setting and to adapt well to changeAbility to lead and coach a team to work safely and maintain high quality standardsPositive 'can do' attitudeIntroduce and maintain a continuous improvement mindset across the teamOur businessAdbri Cement was formally known as Adelaide Brighton Cement.
