Description:

To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991.

About The Role

As a key member of the ATSICHS Team, The Deadly Choices Team Leader is responsible for supporting the implementation and evaluation of Deadly Choices programs and activities aimed at reducing chronic disease factors, promoting smoking cessation, and improving levels of nutrition and physical activity in designated Indigenous communities. The Team Leader will assist the Program Coordinator in managing the team of Program Officers to ensure the delivery of quality programs in line with the Deadly Choices plan and localised Key Performance Indicators.

Duties


* Assist in the scheduling of program training for the Deadly Choices team.
* Support the Manager, Community Connections in connecting and building relationships between Deadly Choices team, health care and dental clinics and youth teams.
* Provide quarterly quality checks with the team to review performance and quality of programs and activities
* Develop and implement communication plans supporting operations, such as team check-ins, individual check-ins, and feedback
* Collaborate with Program Officers to support Deadly Choices events and other community engagement opportunities
* Assist in coordinating the delivery of the Deadly Choices education program and activities into schools and communities.
* Ensure all relevant paperwork and planning is completed for the safe delivery of programs and events.

COVID-19 Requirement

Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

Skills and Experiences:

Required
* Diploma qualifications in Human Services / Health / Allied Health / Education or Community Services.
* 1-3 years' experience in a previous leadership role.
* National Police Certificate.
* Working with Children's (Blue) Card or willing to apply.
* Driving Licence.
* Immunisations Category B.
* Evident of Work Rights.
* Travel between in the community on a regular basis.

Preferred
* Experience in health promotion programs.
* Understanding of the health, social, and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
