About the role: Safer Care Victoria Academy members currently consist of a team of highly experienced clinicians who SCV engage on a casual basis to undertake complex work that supports Safer Care Victoria and the Department of Health. Following a successful on boarding of the Academy Clinicians in 2025, SCV is now seeking to expand the scope and capability of the Clinician stream. The SCV Academy Clinical stream is expanding to consist of persons with relevant experience and expertise in pharmacy, gynaecology, obstetrics or paramedicine. This role will liaise internally within SCV and the Department of Health, and externally with stakeholders, requiring robust written and verbal communication and time management skills. The role reports to the Executive Director of Safety and will work closely with other Safer Care Victoria team members to ensure the implementation and delivery of key accountabilities to SCV's strategic plan and vision. About you: * * Experienced in solving complex problems and/or incident investigation? * A systems thinker with a background or interest pharmacy, gynaecology, obstetrics or paramedicine? * An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills? * Emotionally intelligent in dealing with others and understand the impact of serious events on staff, patients and their families? * Able to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams with a diverse range of stakeholders (i.e. clinicians, consumers and incident analysis and human factors professionals) to participate in or facilitate reviews and/or mentor health services conducting reviews? * Solutions focused and naturally curious to identify systemic barriers to and opportunities for improvement in safety and quality? * Have excellent time management, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules? * Passionate about improving quality and safety of healthcare in Victoria? Qualifications / Specialist Expertise * Tertiary qualification in fields related to pharmacy, gynaecology and obstetrics or paramedicine, or relevant degree is mandatory. * Current AHPRA Registration is mandatory. * Demonstrated experience in organisational change, organisational development, safety and quality management, human factors, and/or organisational behaviour and dynamics is highly desirable.
