Senior Mental Health Pharmacist
Location: Ringwood East, VIC, AU. Full time, fixed‐term position (Maternity leave cover) until April2027. Senior Hospital Pharmacist Grade3.
About the role
Senior mental health pharmacist responsible for the direction, planning, provision, and review of high‐quality clinical pharmacy services across the Eastern Health Mental Health Service in inpatient and community settings.
Responsibilities
* Direct, plan, provide, and review clinical pharmacy services to the mental health service across Eastern Health.
* Collaborate with different disciplines and across multiple sites in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
* Ensure safe, effective, and patient‐centred medication management in all settings.
* Demonstrate commitment to optimum patient‐focused care and professional practice.
* Perform under pressure, meet time constraints, prioritise work, and maintain high organisational skills.
* Lead, negotiate, and make decisions within pharmacy practice.
* Manage change and conduct quality improvement activities.
* Supervise staff, facilitate open discussion, and resolve conflict.
* Collaborate within teams and build relationships for partnership.
* Participate in personal and departmental ongoing professional development, continuing education, and peer review.
Qualifications
* Registered or eligible for registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Current and advanced hospital pharmacy experience, including effective clinical pharmacy skills.
* Sound knowledge of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy, with demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) Guidelines.
* Leadership, negotiation, and decision‐making skills.
* Ability to manage change and conduct quality improvement activities.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate open discussion and resolve conflict.
* High organisational and time‐management skills.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
* Experience presenting at ADPHA or equivalent conferences.
Requirements
* Seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory before employment.
* Healthcare workers must follow COVID vaccination recommendations as per the Australian Immunisation Handbook (ATAGI).
* Must complete a National Police Check.
