With the creation of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Federal Australian Agencies we're building a high-performance team to guide major agencies through the how of ERP migration — with proven strategy, expert delivery, and scalable, lasting impact.

Initially, an 18‑month transformation program, this high‑profile, strategic initiative will be the successful candidate's initial assignment, before transitioning into the broader Customer Success and Delivery area to extend the best practices and knowledge gained there.

About the Role

The Delivery Executive is a critical member of the Delivery Success team within the SAP Customer Services & Delivery (CS&D) ANZ business and integral to the successful delivery of SAP cloud projects. The Delivery Executive will be responsible for the overall management of multiple projects or programs throughout their lifecycle. Candidates will need to demonstrate experience and business acumen in managing scale, high risk, strategic projects / portfolios, and engagements that span organizational boundaries including multiple business units and service partners / vendors. They provide leadership to cross‑functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs to time, budget and project quality criteria. The Delivery Executive ensures adherence to appropriate methodologies around Project & Program management. Experience with SAP's Activate methodology or equivalent is desirable. The Delivery Executive also assists during the Bid Phase of the customer engagement by providing input into the proposal especially around delivery methodology and delivery model, project structure, organization, scoping, estimation and risk assessment.


Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for delivery, governance and outcomes of SAP Cloud projects throughout all stages of the delivery lifecycle.
* A trusted partner for our customers, partners, internal leadership and key stakeholders.
* Responsible for communicating and coordinating with employees at all levels of the organization including senior management, consultants and vendor resources.
* Drives the establishment of plans, schedules, tasks, as well as identifying risks, determining mitigations and contingencies, and reporting the status of projects, plus other project management activities.
* Provides senior leadership to critical and strategic engagements and drives the delivery of project outcomes as defined in the relevant contractual documents.
* Supports the development of mutually agreed customer success criteria for the project engagements.
* Delivers successful outcomes as per the agreed commercial framework, SAP delivery methodology, relevant project management standards and tools which includes SAP Activate, SAP Rise Methodology, Clean Core principles and utilises the integrated tool chain.
* Delivers projects and engagements in line with KPIs, Revenue Targets and Margin expectations.
* Leads and works across matrixed CS&D teams to support the delivery of seamless customer experience and delivery success across the wider services and support portfolio including Preferred Success, Cloud Application Services, Training & Adoption, Sovereign Cloud Delivery, Enterprise Cloud Services Delivery, Product and Cloud Infrastructure Support.
* Being a team player and knowledge sharing with peers is an essential part of the SAP culture.

Excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively engage with executive stakeholders, partners, and SAP account teams. Other key competencies of this role include the ability to :


Sales Support and Opportunity Management

* Represent delivery to drive and define the project scope, schedule (including dependencies and integration components), resourcing, effort estimations and risk assessment for key deals and opportunities.
* Support solutioning of deals so that they can be delivered successfully from customer outcomes perspective but also from a delivery and financial perspective.
* Ensure appropriate methodologies are incorporated, including usage of SAP accelerators tailored to Customer needs to commercial documents.
* Contribute to Project Proposal Reviews conducted with the customer by advocating the project delivery plan and Cloud Project Delivery approach.


Executional Excellence

* Ability to consistently achieve results and exceed targets.
* Monitor revenue, margin and take corrective action to ensure commitments are met.
* Evaluate complex situations accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful and predictable outcomes for their engagements and customers.
* Actively participate in delivery governance and program SteerCo with customers.
* Interface with internal functions and leverage support across the organization to ensure visibility and transparency of results and effective implementation of improvement initiatives.
* Empower Project Managers and junior team members to manage within their engagement level accountabilities, maintaining oversight and acting as an escalation point when issues escalated.
* Focus on customer service and quality, proactively manage engagement top risks / issues across multiple engagements.
* Understand Partner Management aspects relevant to individual customers to assist with implementation of effective governance and delivery of outcomes.


Operational Excellence

* Ensure transparency and predictability of engagements under delivery within SAP, Partners and Customers.
* Maintain highest standards of business integrity and compliance on all programs.
* Drive compliance through utilization of internal tools and adhering to processes to support customer engagements.
* Drive the use of latest SAP delivery methods and best practice such as Clean Core and Integrated Toolchains to support outcomes and manage exceptions.
* Ensure effective execution of all Project management activities (planning, monitoring, and controlling), including


Governance & Reporting

* Ensure all Project activities are performed in accordance with SAP Methodology, Quality Standards, Reporting and Governance frameworks.
* Build a trusting and efficient working relationship with the Customer and 3rd party stakeholders.
* Ensure governance forums are operationalized and recorded as per the governance model, including Project Management meetings and Steering Committee meetings.
* Comply with SAP internal financial processes for projects.
* Coordinate and effectively communicate with other SAP and Customer stakeholders and Project team members to ensure consistent alignment with broader account plans and business strategy.
* Develop and drive strong Customer C‑level relationships on strategic accounts and becoming a trusted advisor.


On a Continuous Basis

* Maintain awareness of the CS&D strategy in terms of transformation initiatives, methodology, tools, delivery strategy and promote the understanding and adoption within the Project or Program.
* Lead by example, mentor and coach other team members.
* Maintain up‑to‑date records of mandatory training.
* Maintain awareness of certification‑related literature, such as the Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK), driven by the Project Manager Institute (PMI).
* Contribute actively to the ANZ CS&D Delivery Management Business to leverage best practices, share lessons from Projects, and contribute to developing the Project Manager function.
* Participate in the development of Project management best practices, examples, templates and SAP's Project Management Methodology.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of SAP solutions and of the CS&D business processes and functions.


Qualifications and Experience

* 10+ years of project management experience in the delivery of medium to large‑scale cloud projects.
* 5‑7 years Program Management experience or significant experience in managing complex and large projects with multiple streams of work.
* Experience with SAP and SAP Cloud products and understanding of SAP RISE Methodology and tool chains.
* Experience working for and / or delivering projects within government agencies and organizations is highly preferred.
* Experience delivering in parallel across multiple customer cloud projects and / or SAP products at any one time.
* Expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables such as, project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, communications plan, budget, and schedule.
* Ability to identify risks, anticipate challenges and seek to proactively head‑off obstacles with mitigations and contingencies.
* Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bring projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience mentoring, and coaching people on project management methodologies.
* Cultural awareness and experience working across different cultures and nationalities.
* Project management certifications such as the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Manager Institute, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of various project management methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, scrum).
