Join a family-owned restaurant located in the suburb of Lightsview, creating and providing delightful meals to the the locals and beyond
Your duties:
* Support the operations of the kitchen in collaboration with the Head Chef and owners, overseeing prep work in the absence of the Head Chef
* Liaise daily with kitchen team regarding all aspects of food preparation, estimating covers based on bookings, ingredients stock levels and more
* Work effectively and positively with the kitchen team during busy peak periods as well as non-peak periods
* Be a team player to help kitchen operations perform as smoothly as possible
* Assists the Head Chef in ensuring the quality, consistency and production of food being served, focusing on attention to detail
* Maintain work area organisational skills to ensure your section is clean and runs efficiently throughout each service period
* Understand patron dietary requirements and deliver service excellence with each customer experience
* Ensure compliance to Work, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and HACCP standards
* Discuss and work with the kitchen team to assist with menu design and rotating specials
About You:
* Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification
* Passion for working in the kitchen and being able to pull through challenges
* At least 1-2 years relevant experience in a similar role
* Being able to stay calm and organised during busy periods when orders accumulate, approaching the cook orders systematically
* Eager to be part of a hard-working and supportive team
