About the Role
Join a thriving property and construction company known for delivering quality homes and outstanding service. We're seeking a detail‑oriented and experienced Company Accountant to manage the financial operations and support the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑to‑day accounting, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger
* Prepare and analyse monthly financial statements and reports
* Manage vendor payments and ensure timely invoice processing
* Coordinate and process bi‑weekly payroll, including field staff timesheets
* Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts
* Maintain financial records in compliance with regulations
* Support project managers with job costing, budget tracking, and financial analysis
* Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
* Implement and improve internal financial controls and systems
* Liaise with insurance companies, suppliers, and subcontractors as needed
* Perform ad hoc accounting tasks as required
About You
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or property
* Proficient with Xero; experience with Aroflo is a plus
* Strong knowledge of payroll, A/R, A/P, and general bookkeeping
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
* Knowledge of job costing and construction billing is advantageous
