The opportunity
We are in the market for an experienced and qualified Landscape Projects Manager, who is passionate about their profession and enjoys the rewards of a good challenge.
As the Landscape Projects Manager, you will work closely with a small team of landscape architects to oversee the project delivery functions for the City's streetscape and public open space development programs.
Reporting to the Coordinator Landscape Services, this role is responsible for:
Provide quality infrastructure project management services to the organisation, including timely and budget-sensitive delivery of Public Open Space capital works projects, renewal programmes, and other capital works as required.
Assisting in the development of the City's annual Public Open Space capital works program, in conjunction with the City's Landscape Management team, through the long-term financial planning process.
Providing advice to the Landscape Services team, as well as the broader organisation, on the practicality of delivering Public Open Space upgrades according to proposed landscaped designs.
Ensuring the application of approved and best practice methodology for contract administration, including the assessment of and response to budget variations, extension of time, performance reviews and other contract related requests.
Ensuring active management of project and contractual risks through preparation of project risk registers and implementation of established mitigation actions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A diploma level qualification in Project Management, or a similar or relevant discipline (i.e. Landscape Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Building).
White Card or Construction Induction Training Card (CITC).
Current unrestricted 'C' class national drivers' license.
Minimum 5 years' experience working in a professional project management position.
Sound knowledge of current landscape construction methods, techniques, utilities, services, and equipment.
Sound knowledge of the building approval/permit process, and relevant codes and regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of contracts, contract law and project management principles.
Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and practices of Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity.
