We currently require casual Disability Support Workers available for Supported Independent Living & Community clients based in Toowoomba and surrounding areas.
The roles are providing support to a male and female in a 24/7 SIL workplace.
We have a range of shifts available during the morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, weekends and public holidays.
Candidates must be open to complete sleepover shifts as follows
- 5.00 pm – 10.00 pm (followed by a sleepover from 10pm-6am)
- 6.00am - 8.00am (following the sleepover)
As a Support Worker, you'll be an integral part of the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds. You will assist with:
- Assisting medications
- Assist clients to undertake a range of daily living activities, such as attending appointments, shopping, engaging in community and social activities.
- Assist clients to undertake personal and self-care activities, such as showering, dressing and eating.
- Assist clients to undertake domestic responsibilities in their home, such as cooking, cleaning and managing their household duties including cleaning, laundry or meal preparation Community engagement
- Assist clients who have high physical needs and/or behaviours of concern.
- Transferring individuals using hoists and slide board, and general assistance with mobility
- Provided High Intensity Supports as per Clients Support Plans, including but not limited to: Complex Bowel Care, Enteral Feeding Support, Dysphagia Support, Urinary Catheter Support
- Coach and build confidence in participants to develop skills needed such as cooking, budgeting and shopping.
- Attend all mandatory training and willing to undertake complex task training as needed to meet the support needs of our clients.

What we are looking for:
- Cert III Disability (or working towards), or experience in Disability Support.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate. (Or willing to obtain)
- Experience with Manual Handling.
- Reliable transportation for Community Access & Participation.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
- Queensland Provisional or above Driver's Licence.
- Current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). (Or willing to obtain)
- Current Paid NDIS Workers Screening Card (Yellow Card). (Or willing to obtain
Ideal but not mandatory:
- Cert IV in mental health or equivalent
- Strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with technology.
- Experience working with high-intensity and complex behaviour clients
