Synopsis: A fixed-term, part-time (0.4 FTE) position from 20 January to 10 December ****. This role supports students across Haileybury campuses, helping them develop speaking, reading and writing skills and making a meaningful impact on language learning.
Responsibilities
Reinforce speaking skills through one-on-one sessions or small-group activities with students.
Assist students in strengthening their understanding of class concepts, while also extending learning opportunities for those who demonstrate proficiency beyond the expected year level.
Differentiate reading materials to suit the different levels of language fluency.
Assist in the preparation of teaching resources for a particular year level.
Keep records of student progress in language development.
Maintain regular communication with language teaching staff regarding student progress and behavioural concerns.
Provide support, as required, in applicable language classroom activities and extra-curricular programmes.
About You
A native Chinese speaker with a strong grasp of the language's history and cultural heritage.
Well-versed in the Victorian and Australian language curriculum.
Experienced Language Assistant in senior-year applicable language classrooms.
