About this opportunity
Our Resources and Sustainability Business Team is looking for experienced Truck Drivers to assist with road construction and maintenance projects.
The role involves both truck driving duties and general labour tasks, contributing to various construction and maintenance activities.
If you are a skilled truck driver with roadworks experience, this could be an ideal chance for you.
The positions are based at multiple locations i.e. Beaudesert, and Boonah but you may be required to work from any of Council’s facilities within the Scenic Rim
Key Responsibilities
- Perform truck driving duties as directed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out a pre-start safety checklist and report any vehicle faults.
- Complete fault report sheets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Operate two-way radio equipment for effective communication.
- Perform daily general labouring duties to support road maintenance and construction activities.
- Safely operate small plant machinery after proper induction and training.
- Comply with Council policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure the delivery of quality services.
About you
- Hold a current Queensland Medium Rigid driver’s licence
- Possess a valid General Construction Induction (White Card).
- Demonstrated experience in general labouring for construction and maintenance.
- Skilled in the operation of small plant and hand-held power tools.
- Ability to understand and adhere to Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
- A team player with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues.
