Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager, HDR Admissions and Scholarships, you’ll provide leadership to the team responsible for HDR admissions and scholarship services, ensuring high-quality support for applicants, candidates and researchers at UNSW. You’ll provide expert advice on HDR policies, manage strategic scholarship programmes to strengthen research capacity, and support the Pro Vice‑Chancellor (Research Training), Associate Director and Director of the Graduate Research School.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the HDR admissions and scholarship team.
- Provide expert advice on HDR policies, legislation and guidelines.
- Manage strategic scholarship programmes to strengthen research capacity.
- Support senior leadership within the Graduate Research School.
- Communicate and consult a wide range of stakeholders across UNSW.
- Drive business improvement initiatives and lead change processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- In‑depth understanding of Higher Degree Research policies, legislation and guidelines.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, consultation, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience in business improvement and leading change processes.
- Competent systems and software user (Microsoft 365, records management, student/staff systems, Power BI, government databases).
