As we continue to grow, we are seeking a senior operations leader to shape the strategic direction, systems, and performance of our global operations platform.
The Opportunity
The Director, Operations provides strategic oversight, leadership, and governance across all operational functions, ensuring that Tetra Tech's systems, processes, and capabilities are efficient, compliant, scalable, and aligned with our organisational goals and client expectations.
This senior role leads multi‐country operational frameworks, including compliance, risk, insurance, travel, facilities, and offshore office management, while championing continuous improvement and operational excellence across our international development portfolio.
You will work closely with the Executive General Manager, Operations & Program Management, senior leaders across Australia and overseas, and our program delivery teams to build high‐performing, values aligned operational foundations that support sustainable growth.

What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Organisational Alignment
* Provide senior leadership across all operational functions, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and client needs.
* Advise on systems optimisation, operational realignment, and opportunities for improved coherence across pursuit and delivery.
* Champion cross‐functional collaboration to drive integrated, sustainable solutions.
* Manage a team of operations experts, ensuring an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
* Oversee offshore office operations, including leases, compliance, operational systems, and organisational risk management.
* Lead insurance strategy, governance, procurement, and compliance across multiple countries and programs.
* Maintain and strengthen the enterprise risk framework, ensuring proactive risk identification and mitigation across operational, financial, legal, and reputational domains.
* Ensure alignment with legal, regulatory, contractual, ethical, and donor requirements.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, cost‐effectiveness, and future growth.
* Design and implement scalable operational models and technology‐enabled systems that support evolving program needs.
Corporate Operations & Travel Management
* Oversee corporate travel policy, systems, and processes, ensuring safety, mobility, and compliance.
* Manage onshore and offshore facilities and leases in accordance with organisational policy.
About You
You are an accomplished senior operations leader with extensive experience in international development or a similar complex global operating environment. You bring a strategic mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and a strong commitment to building safe, inclusive, high‐performing workplace cultures.

Experience & Qualifications
* Senior operational management experience in international development, ideally at functional, regional or country director level.
* Demonstrated success managing multi‐million‐dollar budgets (or equivalent), multi‐location operations, and complex organisational systems.
* Expertise in compliance, risk, insurance, travel operations, and change management.
* Experience working in multicultural, multi‐country settings with diverse teams with strong cultural competency.
Skills & Attributes
* Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical capability, and problem‐solving skills.
* Strong business acumen and ability to align operations with financial and strategic priorities.
