We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and fashion-forward Design & Production Assistant to support our creative and production teams. This is a diverse role, ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and passionate about fashion, with the ability to balance creativity and technical precision. Key Responsibilities
Design Support
* Assist the Design team with accurate and thorough style setup in the cloud-based PLM system.
* Create and update technical sketches in Illustrator.
* Prepare and manage seasonal collections, ensuring all style information is accurate from development through SMS finalisation.
* Maintain prompt and professional correspondence with suppliers.
* Manage approval processes for Proto and SMS samples, including beaded panel tracings and supplier comments.
* Help with receipt and processing of Proto and SMS samples.
* Approve invoices for Proto and SMS development.
* Book and manage local and international couriers for design-related parcels.
* Meet daily, weekly, and seasonal deadlines with strong organisational and time management skills.
Production Support
* Assist the Production Manager with accessory approvals, size tracings, and beaded panel layouts.
* Check and approve care labels, swing tags, barcodes, and packaging artwork.
* Track and monitor PP and bulk production timelines, ensuring alignment with the Critical Path.
* Participate in fit sessions, taking accurate notes and communicating changes to offshore vendors.
* Support quality control checks SMS, Pre-Production (PP), and bulk garments.
* Help manage lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and fabric approvals.
* Liaise with external suppliers regarding production progress, approvals, and shipping timelines.
* Assist with the handover from design to production including final spec sheets and technical packages.
* Provide general administrative support to the Production Manager and wider production team.
Skills & Experience
* 1–2 years' experience in a similar role within fashion design or production.
* Tertiary qualifications in fashion production or design.
* Strong interest in fashion, ideally with exposure to beaded garments.
* Excellent knowledge of fabric, garment construction, and finishing.
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
* Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
* Experience working with offshore vendors and suppliers.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
* Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
